If you live in London or just visiting the city, you’ll knows how difficult it can be to decide what to do with your evening. Our app of the week is designed to help you make that choice, MyTime London is a free event planning app which shows you the hottest picks of things to do and should make the tricky process of planning a night out much simpler.
There are many apps which are designed to help you plan a night out, but MyTime is probably the easiest one to use that I’ve seen. On first opening the app you can log in using Facebook or just use it as a guest, then make a pick of what sort of events you are interested in (pick from Recommended, Arts, Food & Drink, Music, Comedy, Sport, Film, Free & Cheap), tap “I’m done” and you’re ready to go.
MyTime syncs directly with iCal so you can add all of the events you’re interested in straight to your calendar, something you always want from an event planning app but rarely seem to get. You can also share the events with your friends via Facebook, Twitter or e-mail and get directions from your current location directly to the event.
It all sounds very simple but that’s one of the best things about the app, a lot of event planning apps are needlessly over-complicated. The scrolling calendar at the top of the menu and the layout of each of the listing pages make this a wonderfully easy app to use.
Overall it’s a brilliant app, there’s plenty of listings for things to do and I’m sure this will grow over the coming months. The only thing I’d recommend for the app (and it really is a tiny thing) would be to integrate a ticket purchasing system into the app. Currently you can click on the ‘event page’ button which will take you to the official event page site and buy tickets through there, but a ‘buy tickets’ button would be a really swish addition to the app.
